Life is a canvas and these are just the moments that together we've painted.
ABOUT ME:
I go by Josh Romero and "The Boca Libre" is my personal blog. It's simply life through my eyes. Hopefully, through it you'll get a glimpse of my journey and learn a little bit about who I am. Lately, I've been working on a project called "Sopa". As well as co-writing a book entitled "Hidden Within My Chest". Both are very special to me and I'm pretty excited about them! Stay close and be on the look out for the Sopa launch soon. Thanks!
60+ days in and not a whole lot is being done to fix or clean up the BP oil spill in the Gulf. It’s quite sad really! I’ve heard in some parts of Louisiana it was raining oil. That’s scary! Think of all those animals! I love animals, so this really hits home. These are some pieces my friend Chris did to just bring some attention to the situation. I know a lot of people are already aware but hopefully people take action!
You can check out more of Chris’ work at: www.christophervela.com. He does some really great stuff!
Your limits are endless when you’re willing to put in hard work. I don’t think he’s playing games either. His self discipline is no joke! I’m excited for you to see what he has in store. Hopefully, he’s got you wondering what FL1 is all about… Stay close!
I really hope my summer nights look more like this…
I took this last night as some of the Kidrobot crew kicked it poolside, It was cool. I’m gonna miss those guys!!!
But…I’m suuuuuuuper stoked about NYC! I’ll be there June 29th - July 13th. Yuhhhhh!!!
I love going up there! There’s just so much to take in and so much inspiration all around. Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig shout out to Lisa for allowing me to crash at her place in Brooklyn. Holy crap, I just realized I won’t be in Texas for 4th of July…
It was an awesoooooome almost 11 months. Seriously one of the best work experiences I’ve ever had! I don’t think there was ever a single day where I dreaded going to work. A lot of it had to do with our customers and these few people:
Paul,
You’re the weirdest person I’ve yet to meet. You have so many pairs of shoes and waaaaaay too many Dunny’s! I’m still trying to figure out what you do in your spare time. I’m gonna make sure and call your next employer and tell them you’re not allowed to take shits on the clock. Oh, and I really think that Red car suits you to a T.
Brantely,
You’re a super talented artist! I really can’t wait to see where your art takes you. I didn’t know so much talent could come from Arkansas! Stop being so scurrred! ha, I kid! But now that we’re jobless, we should really find that casino boat and gamble what we have left.
Negrito,
I don’t know anyone who can party like you do. 33 and still move like you’re 15! Shit, I think I feel older than you do. haha. Nah, but for real, we’ve had a lot of good times. We’ve also gotten into a lot of trouble. hahaha. Either way… it’s always been a blast. It’s been a pleasure getting to kick it with you and Lori. You guys better stay close bitch!
Assblood,
You’re seriously the best manager I’ve ever had. I learned a whooooole lot from watching you work. You served us more than bossed us around, for that I’m truly grateful! Your stories are the best and your farts reek of the finest turds. haha. But for real thanks for putting up with me. It’s been my pleasure sir. :)
Lisa,
We just met…but I feel like you’ve been with us this whole time. It’s kinda weird… You’re part of our family. Thanks for being so awesome and giving me so much stuff! I’m seriously taking you up on your offer. I’ll be in NY shortly… promise! Oh, and you better go back telling everyone that Texas isn’t filled with Cowboys and Cow dung. hahaha
Lauren,
You left before I could take a picture of your purrrty face. Buuuuuuut… Thank you for being so rad and being a sister to all us boys. I’m sure you learned a lot of new things about how we think. hahaha. Be good and hurry up and start working on that outerwear line! You’re suuuuuper smart and suuuuuuuuper talented! The world isn’t ready to see what you produce. Oh yeah, stop buying so many damn bags!!!
Put the top down and crank your systems up! It’s finally here!!! The new mix from the homies DJ Sober and DJ A1. It’ll have you up and out of your seat within the first few tracks! It’s a perfect mix for a perfect summer. So if you’re in the mood for a summer that’s #AUTOMATIC click here to get it started.
Beyond hype and music selection I saw real passion… I really just wanted to capture who Will was behind the tables, behind “DJ Sober”. I think a lot of people build a perception based on buzz. But I wanted to capture truth! I’ve learned that to see who people really are, it’s done behind closed doors. Behind the spotlight! Hopefully, you get a little glimpse of what I saw in the midst of a months worth of shooting.
I know not what you bring, but I feel you creeping around my corner. Hold steady as I’m not ready to meet you. I have so much I still want to do and see! I know you couldn’t care less about how I feel but I hope you give ear to my words.
I have so much I want to write upon your pages! Somethings I haven’t even yet to discover. Everyday I find something new that I want to share with you. I don’t know…But my heart flutters at the thought of your coming. Although, I’m unsure that I’ll be ready when you arrive. Who knows, maybe there isn’t a way to prepare for your coming. Only time will tell…But…know you’re always on my mind! And when we finally meet, I hope what I’ve done was worth the wait.
This is one lesson, I’m definitely learning in this moment of my life. Sometimes we lose ourselves only to find ourselves again.
It’s all part of growing new everyday! It’s super easy to take everything for granted. Its even more easy to get caught up in things that have no value or substance. I’m really starting to learn the value of the things and people that surround me. I wanna cherish all of it, for I can’t turn back time!
Recently I made a visit to the Ft. Worth Modern Museum…
Initially, I went to see the Andy Warhol “Last Decade” exhibit before it ended. It was… alright. I kinda had mixed feelings about it. But while walking through the other exhibits I saw this piece.
It was definitely my favorite from throughout the whole museum. I’m not one to interpret someone else’ art but I did like what I got from this particular piece.
